Minnesota winters are full of fun for kids and adults alike! Here are some of the great winter activities in the Redwood Falls, Olivia, Danube, and Renville, Minnesota areas.
Winter Activities in Renville and Redwood Counties
Ice-Skating
There are several great places to go ice skating in our area. If you like the outdoor ice skating experience, the Danube Area Athletic Club has an awesome new outdoor rink located at Voelz Park that has an area for both recreational skating and hockey, as well as a warming house. Renville also has an outdoor ice rink. Redwood Falls has an indoor hockey rink located in the Civic Center Arena at Redwood Community Center. This is also the home of the Redwood Area Hockey Association where many of local kids who love hockey play on the Cardinals!
Snowmobiling
There are some beautiful snowmobiling trails that run through Renville and Redwood Counties and by the towns of Olivia, Danube, Redwood Falls, and Renville. Check out this map of Minnesota snowmobiling trails.
Snowshoeing or Winter Hiking
There are many great places for snowshoeing or winter hiking, such as Ramsey Park or several of the Renville County Parks. Skalbekken and Vicksburg Parks have designated winter parking areas located inside the parks. Lake Allie Park has a driveway for access onto the lake.The gates are locked at the other Renville County Parks, but walk-in daily use is still allowed. The Renville County Parks also suggest cross country skiing, ice fishing, and bird watching for winter activities.
